A mint example of Cartier's exemplar skeletonisation work, done on an automatic Santos Dumont. This Santos Dumont is part of Cartier's latest generation of skeletonised watches, which unlike other brands have bespoke movements that fit the entirety of the case. Whereas virtually every other watchmaker regularly sticks undersized movements in larger cases, Cartier designs each skeletonised movement for the cases they're meant to go into. For example, the standard Santos Dumont only comes with a manual-wind movement, while this skeleton model has a microrotor automatic movement with the oscillating weight visible in the corner. As expected, this watch comes with a Cartier loupe to admire the movement, as well as the usual box, booklets and dated papers.
